Auto Insurance
Basic Coverage
Every car on the road must have insurance that meets state requirements. While some states only require Bodily Injury Liability and Property Damage Liability, others have different minimums. Note that if you're found at-fault in an accident, Liability Insurance alone will not cover your losses, only the other drivers'.
Common Insurance Coverage on an Auto Insurance Policy
Why is Auto Insurance necessary? Having Car Insurance is vital; it covers your expenses in the event of vehicle damage or injuries to other drivers, passengers, or pedestrians.
What is Auto Insurance?
Auto Insurance is an agreement between you and the insurance company. It protects you against Financial loss in the event of an accident or theft. By paying a premium, the insurance company agrees to pay your losses outlined in your policy.
How are Car Insurance rates determined?
Auto Insurance costs vary widely based on individual rating factors like age, gender, location, and vehicle, among other specific state differences.

Bodily Injury Protection
This protects you financially (up to the policy limits) for physical injury to a third party. This includes pain and suffering, emotional distress, loss of income and even death.
Property Damage Liability
Coverage that pays for damage or destruction of a third party's property, including loss of use.
Deductible
An amount of money which, in the event of a covered loss, the insured is required to pay prior to the insurer being liable for any damages. The purpose of a deductible is to eliminate the expense of processing small claims.
Collision
A collision is an insurance term for what most people think of as an "accident." This coverage pays for damages to your car upon impact with another vehicle, object or person outside your car. This coverage is often subject to a deductible.
Comprehensive
Coverage that pays to repair or replace your car for accidental damage other than that caused by a collision, for example, you hit a signpost, or your vehicle is damaged in a storm, stolen or vandalized. Comprehensive coverage also typically includes a deductible.
Uninsured & Underinsured Motorist
Unfortunately, not all drivers are well-insured. This coverage is meant to protect you if you're in an accident with someone who is at-fault and doesn't have insurance or doesn't have enough insurance to cover the damage and injuries. It's inexpensive coverage that ensures you won't have to pay out-of-pocket when another driver's insurance isn't adequate.
Additional Coverages
Rental Car Reimbursement, Towing, Loan/Lease Gap Coverage, Medical Expenses and Rideshare Insurance are just a few more coverages that can help you feel even more secure financially.
